The sweet notes of a violin, or the soft melody of a piano capture my heart easily. The best analogy that resembles the particularity of pleasant single tones to my ears is the listening of the rain or waves crashing.

On a summer day, two young children came to their mother, pleading their hunger, asking for food. She was well-prepared. She reached into the carry-bag beside her and handed little boys little wrapped lunches. Grabbing with one hand, they jumped and ran back to play, munching satisfyingly as they went. The mother took her own meal from the bag, and sat, and watched, and smiled.
Across the playground, another rug was spread. Mother scouted around climbing frames and swings, one by one summoning the family to lunch. And they came, father carrying the smallest, the older children happily moving toward the prepared nourishment. And they sat. Stopped awhile. Circled laid-out food, backs to all but one another. Eyes connected. Tongues chattered. It was slow, this simple feast. Joyful in company, in the occasion. When young and older were satisfied, an entire family rose, shook out the rug, and retreated to play together.
Oh, the sweet notes, well played notes, all in perfect harmony, making the master composition!
Where do I stand when it comes the time to share a meal with Jesus? Where is my focus? What is the force that drives me, the motivation?
I hope my life is not in constant rush. I hope that everyday God teaches me how to stop, refrain myself from the "to do list", give up my preferences, and slow down my pace to be with him.
EINE KLEINE NACHTMUSIK!
