Breaking Through

For with my given eyes,

the real world I assume to see,

almost everyday flies,

the real life, I deflect and flee.

A regular morning...hot coffee, the aroma of brewed beans disperses all over the place. The eyes of Faith (mom) and Hope (daughter) meet and cross for a time, "hello, I love you". The intersection of sights brings kind words to the mind and heart of both.

Faith holds steadfast to her promises. She remembers as she drinks her coffee that she needs to buy Hope new clothes. The loyalty and the sincerity in her words once spoken: "Hope, on the 7th I will buy you the clothes"...she firmly believes that her daughter Hope is completely trusting in her.

Therefore, the conviction, the allegiance, the fidelity, the devotion and the obligation, all push her to the edge of a no-proof, but fully faithful string.

Hope, she closes her eyes, tries to remember when her day started. In her mind: the broken brake of her bike - the little turtle, Tickle, needs to be fed - water needs to be poured on mom's flowers. Hope dreams with a garden she can take care of. She desires to one day see many flowers and colors and smell scents - colors and smells that fulfill her passion of becoming a gardener of an oceanic and royal garden.

Mrs. Faith tells hope: "Hurry babe, soon the bus will stop, you need to have fidelity, you need to honor the time that has been set up for the bus driver to pick you up darling."

Hope zips her jacket, she also zips her life. Through the window, a woman with a red umbrella, she sees herself walking barefoot, wearing a colorful skirt, contemplating the beauty of her roses. The trip to school is quite long; inside the bus a secret door that leads to an unending ornamented field, only Hope has the key to open it.

Tick-tack.

The dishes have been washed, the carpet has been vacuumed, the dust has been suctioned, lunch is ready. Mrs. Faith goes through the to-do-list...wait a minute!, she thinks: "I have two free hours, I should go and buy Hope's clothes." She leaves home.
In full confidence she purchases the clothes that will make Hope happy and will bring a smile to her face. Mrs. Faith has no doubt about the joy that will fill Hope's heart, the joy that she will share with her daughter as she tries on her new clothes.

Tick-tack.

Inside her classroom, Hope remembers those 4 little girls she embraced in her arms. In her mind and heart, the cherished desire of sharing her possessions with broken and needed girls. She thinks: "All girls are princesses, the most beautiful flowers in the most precious garden...I want to be used in God's hands to care and clothe my new friends. They need my help."

Mrs. Faith walks to the bus stop. In 7 minutes the bus should arrive.

"Mom, you should have seen it, a huge rainbow covered from side to side the heavens. I walked for miles and miles, lost in the most colorful paradise. When I got tired Mom, I had the chance to rest on top of green grass, very soft grass, the most comfortable pillow I've ever had..."

"Lunch was yummy Mom, thank you for the food you prepared."

Mrs. Faith walks, she holds her daughter's hand, caress it, caress her head and gives a kiss to her. "I love you my little princess", she says.

Hope brings her dishes to the sink...

In Hope's bed all her new clothes lay. She opens the door of her room, her eyes sparkle, they shine. Hope cannot believe it. Colorful dresses and skirts, new shoes, underwear covered with flowers, an orange and a yellow hat, a purple rain jacket...

...It was hard for Mrs. Hope to understand it, but she did not want to break her daughter's heart by refusing to help the little girls, the new friends of Hope.

It was not but until the moment when Mrs. Faith was covering her daughter with the blankets and leaning towards her to kiss her goodnight, when she realized that love comes from the offer of grace of God, and that only the merciful love of God could lead her from a life full of sin to a life of a child of God. Hope and Faith both learned through the day that it is not human love which builds loyalty between them and other people or between them and their dreams and desires, but that God's love is the one...

In the imagination of people,

elsewhere in his nature,
life imprisoned and executed under selfish motives;
a chaotic composition,
sourceless.
